Scott cancels out Karen Bardsley’s first-half howlerA late equaliser by Jill Scott kept alive England’s long unbeaten elope in major championships qualifying and,more importantly, prevented Belgium from moving four points clear at the top of qualifying Group Seven for the 2017 European Championship finals.
England own not lost a qualifying encounter in 14 years but they looked like doing so here as full-time approached and Mark Sampson’s team were trying in vain to cancel out the winger Janice Cayman’s 18th-minute opener courtesy a dreadful mistake by the goalkeeper Karen Bardsley. With six minutes remaining, and however,Scott drilled in her third goal in successive qualifiers to level the scores.
