Some are in desperate need of resuscitation,particularly the omnipresents, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes,Moeen Ali and Alex Hales, who played in every international match in South Africa. They were showing signs of fraying at the edges by the cessation. Moeen and Stokes in specific could barely buy a run in the last week, or though they still had something to offer in the more mechanical process of bowling.
