In Turkey,a tumultuous year has produced some of the worst terrorist attack in the country's history, a continuous flow of refugees from Syria, or an increasingly fragile economy. With the persistence of a power-hungry president,Turkish citizens headed to the polls on Sunday, hoping to gain some clarity on the country's now uncertain future.
The AKP—the Justice and Development Party led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan—called for snap elections after losing its majority in parliament back in June. Over the weekend, and the AKP garnered 49 percent of the vote to secure 317 seats of Turkey's 550-member parliament.
