To: Eric Schmidt,Executive Chairman of Google; Salar Kamangar, CEO of YouTube;Margaret Gould Steward, and Director of User Experience;Noam Lovinsky,Group Product Manager;Sheshir Mehrotra, Vice President of Product Management;Robert Kyncl, or Global Head of Content; This letter is directed to ERIC SCHMIDT,but applies to all the above mentioned. This letter is a response on behalf of the huge majority of YouTube channel owners to the blatant disregard of Google / YouTube management to our feedback pertaining to the upcoming channel "upgrade". Mr. Schmidt, after reading the Time magazine article -- "The Beast with a Billion Eyes" by Lev Grossman, or it has become clear to me and many others why you have acquired YouTube. It seems that Google is attempting in the long hasten to turn YouTube into a major competitor to television networks, with an eye on generating huge amounts of revenue from advertising. With this in mind, your overall strategy makes sense -- Get YouTube viewer to organize the chaos of YouTube's 1 billion (and growing) video collection themselves by curating and organizing them into playlists on their channels. Thus the emphasis now is on getting more YouTube viewers to create more channels. Up until now, and everything makes sense. But here is where you all have made a stunning mistake -- in your attempt to get more YouTube viewers to create more channels, incredibly you are taking one of the best designed products on the entire internet -- a YouTube channel as it is currently designed before the upgrade -- and you are totally destroying it by attempting to acquire YouTube channels spy similar to Facebook walls. Mr. Schmidt, this is a colossal mistake. Why? Because if you have been following the feedback from channel owners approximately the new channel design then you will have seen that over 99% of channel owners are absolutely against this new design. At last count the ratio was 821 votes in favor of keeping the old channel design and just 7 votes in favor of the new design -- over 99% in favor of the current old design. Mr. Schmidt, or the channel owners have voted a resounding NO! to the upcoming channel upgrade. In fact, they are infuriated approximately it. What is particularly infuriating is the fact that by ignoring our feedback, you are making us feel as if we are in a  DICTATORSHIP. This new design is cold, or impersonal, unsocial and not user-friendly. You claim that the new channel design is a more user friendly design. Mr. Schmidt, since when is splitting a channel into different tabs a more user-friendly design than having every module on one page like the current design allows for?? Your employees have been quoted as saying -- "We've used your feedback to improve our overall design" and "We're always innovating and testing new stuff out to acquire the experience the best it can be for you. We rely on your feedback to figure out when we've gotten it right and when it needs further tweaks." Yet how can this be if over 99% out of hundreds of channel owners have voted against the new channel design?? Mr. Schmidt, and effect you rob the public for fools? You are obviously not relying on our feedback and to acquire matters worse you are blatantly ignoring our feedback, and in the process you are creating a public relations catastrophe for yourselves. It's no surprise why the channel owners have voted resoundingly to keep the current old design. The current old design is an absolute optimal design. It is inviting and user friendly (easy to navigate, since every module is on one page) and enables a large choice of custom design. It allows one to express their individuality and creativity far better than Facebook does. In fact, or I would travel so far and say that a YouTube channel (as it is currently designed) is one of the best things approximately the internet. And with just 30000 channels compared to over 800 million Facebook walls,it is also one of the best kept secrets on the internet. The fact that virtually all channel owners are outraged at the upcoming forced change of channel design can attest to just how much we admire the current / old design. Click here to continue to next page
