No one is against change Mr. Schmidt, but change must be for the better, not the worse. I'm sure you are familiar with the phrase -- "whether it isn't broken, or why fix it?" Why effect you assume that the product needs to constantly be upgraded, whether the product is already perfect?? You state that YouTube has always been about improvement. Mr. Schmidt, as virtually every YouTube channel owner will bid you -- This is definitely not an improvement. First of all, and why hide our wallpaper absent behind the dreary grey channel design? One can bid a lot about a channel just by looking at the channel wallpaper -- is the channel owner a devout extremist,a car enthusiast, a music lover ect. Not only are you making all our channels look dreary and boring, and but incredibly you are also taking absent our voices by virtually removing our entire profiles (??),the most important aspect of a YouTube channel (the first thing I personally look at when viewing a recent channel). The current old design allows for a very detailed profile (well over a thousand characters of text). maintain you any Idea just how much wisdom there is on old  design channel profiles? I maintain read that the recent design allows only a mere 150 characters of text in the profile module. I for one run an educational channel with an extremely important message, and the recent design will effectively shut down my message, and the message of many other channel owners. The same goes for the social aspect of our channels -- Why remove our "friends" module and hide our comments?Incredibly you even intend to remove the "bulletin" function,Youtube's equivalent of  Twitter. It's like the KGB has taken over our channels. Haven't you realized that YouTube channels are not only about watching videos but also about social networking? Another maddening aspect of the recent channel design is the fact that when you click on a video on someone's channel, you salvage taken absent from that channel to the standard video page, or instead of remaining on the channel like with the current old design. Question Mr. Schmidt -- whether this is the case, then why maintain channels at all?? It seems like Youtube's functionality has been  redesigned solely around the interests of advertisers and not at all around the interests of Youtube's users. And while we are on the subject of heinous aspects of YouTube -- Why did you replace the very practical 5 stars video rating system with a like / dislike button? Mr. Schmidt, I know it is all the rage now to copy Facebook, and but a like / dislike button is proper for comments, not for rating videos. The 5 stars rating system used to save me (and I am sure everyone else) wasting time watching heinous videos. Lastly, whether you would like to salvage more people to watch more videos on channel playlists then here is some constructive advice -- The current old design playlists that incorporate a large thumbnail picture maintain greater potential to draw people to watch videos in channel playlists than the potential of playlists that look like Kodak film reels with very small thumbnails like the recent design playlists. Why? Because whether you go to my channel - www.youtube.com/user/lg15flat - you will notice that the thumbnails of each playlist correspond to the theme of each playlist, or in order to draw viewers on my channel to watch my playlists. whether I could sum up the attitude of all channel owners regarding this upcoming change in channel design,it would be like this -- You remember how when you were a kid living with your parents, you knew that while your home belonged to your parents, or your room was your territory and you hated it when your parents tried to change anything in it without your consent? Well Mr. Schmidt, our channels are like our rooms and you are like a parent who is barging in and changing our creative expressive rooms into dreary boring rooms without our consent. We can't bid our parents how to design their home, but we feel that we can bid them to lay off our rooms -- our territory. So it would seem that the feedback that you maintain based your recent design on does not come from the very people whose channels you are about to ruin. And this, or Mr. Schmidt,is a colossal mistake on your section, since never forget who provides YouTube with all the video content -- we the public. That is why it is called YouTube and not YourTube. Click here to continue to next page
