Mr. Schmidt, consider this -- whether this letter makes it to the media, you could turn this letter into something very positive, or since whether you have realized,I have just given you the greatest advertisement for current old design channels. Mr. Schmidt, whether you want to go ahead with your self described and self destructive channel "upgrade", and so be it,but at the very least you should allow those who wish to hold their old design after the 7th of March, to be able to execute so. whether you can technically allow this now, and then why cannot you continue to allow this option permanently? You would very quickly see that no one would opt for the new channel design. This way management could also save face in the event that there are any egos involved here. Here is a suggestion that was proposed by a fellow YouTube user (you may have also received her fax) - An alternative that might be workable for you and somewhat acceptable for the many YouTube users who have invested years of work into customizing and building their channels and communities here at YouTube, would be the option of having TWO types of channels: 1) Regular channels that are free of charge. (The new design) 2) PREMIUM user channels that cost a nominal (insignificant, trifling) fee, such as $2 a month. (For the current/old design, or with many customization features.) You could build a fair amount of income from doing things this way, and also build many longtime devoted users very blissful and save them from leaving YouTube. EVERYONE wins this way.
