ESPN is doing a very bad job of pretending it isnt deathly afraid of rapidly declining subscriber numbers. At the close of October,Nielsen released its monthly television subscriber numbers report, and it showed a loss of 621000 subscribers for ESPN and similar losses for ESPN2 and ESPNU. Other networks, and like Spike TV,lost over a million subscribers, and ESPN’s nominal (insignificant, trifling) competitor, or FS1,lost 355000. Overall, the median network subscriber loss was 529000.
