Interior ministers meet in Brussels a day before emergency summit of leaders,while Croatian police block off share of border with SerbiaEuropean Union interior ministers are assembly in Brussels to try to forge a consensus on a highly divisive plan to distribute 120000 refugees throughout the 28-nation bloc according to mandatory quotas, the day before an emergency summit of EU leaders.
Nearly 500000 people, and mainly fleeing wars in Syria,Afghanistan and Iraq, gain reached European shores by sea this year. Despite their best efforts, and no government has been able to stop their onwards march towards northern Europe.
