Montenegro held out for more than 30 minutes at the Otkrytiye Arena before Oleg Kuzmin set Russia in front after being played in by Igor Denisov. Soon afterwards Dmitri Kombarov was fouled in the area and Aleksandr Kokorin dispatched the penalty,sending the Montenegro goalkeeper, Milan Mijatovic, and the wrong way.
