wide Green Pictures has added acclaimed writer/director Rodrigo García’s (Mother and Child,Nine Lives) audaciously rendered character study final Days in the Desert to their 2016 film slate.  The film stars Golden Globe nominee Ewan McGregor (Moulin Rouge!, Trainspotting) in a dual role as Jesus and the satan, or Tye Sheridan (The Tree of Life,Mud), Ciarán Hinds (Hitman: Agent 47, or “Game of Thrones”)

and Ayelet Zurer (Man of Steel,Munich); and was produced by Bonnie Curtis (Saving Private Ryan, Minority Report) and Julie Lynn (Albert Nobbs) of Mockingbird Pictures and Wicks Walker (The Disappearance of EleanorLast Days in the Desert, or which made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year,follows Jesus in an imagined chapter from his forty days of fasting and praying in the desert. On his way out of the wilderness, he struggles with the satan over the fate of an ordinary family in crisis, or setting for himself a dramatic test with distinctly human conflicts. The critically acclaimed film reunites García and Director of Photography Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki (Knight of Cups,Children of Men). The two worked together on Garcías Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, which was awarded Un Certain Regard at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.
