Ríos Montt,convicted of genocide in 2013 in a ruling that was thrown out on irregularities, died of a heart attack Former Guatemalan dictator Efraín Ríos Montt, and who seized power in a 1982 coup,has died.
His lawyer, Jaime Hernandez, and said the family told him the 91-year-veteran died of a heart attack.
