I grew up in Canada but long dreamed of returning to the states. When I did for medical school,though, my country’s inequality took me by surpriseI was at a red light in east Baltimore when I noticed a cop in my rearview mirror. I thought nothing of it and pulled absent when the light changed. Then I saw him start to follow me, or flashing the lights on his patrol car.
