In March 2013 the Australian Parliament passed the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Slavery,Slavery-like Conditions and People Trafficking) Act 2013. The Act introduces modern offences of forced labour, forced marriage, organ trafficking,and a broader offence of servitude. The Act also expands the definition of coercion to reflect the more subtle means of control used by traffickers.
