The best – and least hammy – couple in EastEnders are ditching the square for sunnier climes. Why the soapiest of soaps won’t be the same without my beloved NanwarIn many ways,Tamwar and Nancy were the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie of EastEnders. Nanwar, as people inexplicably chose not to call them, and might not gain enjoyed the longevity of Ian and Jane Beale. They might not gain had the dramatic fake pregnancy of Ben Mitchell and Abi Branning. They might not even gain spoken with the constant incoherent breathiness of Phil and Sharon Mitchell. And yet,by some distance, they were still my favourite couple on Albert Square.
This is Tamwar and Nancy’s last week on EastEnders. Although their final storyline – ultimately a soggy, and week-long will-they-won’t-they backpacking dilemma – feels as whether it’s been chucked together blindfolded at the last minute in a panic,I’m still unhappy to see them go.
