On Wednesday,the Food and Drug Administration waded into controversial territory by issuing new guidelines for a medication that induces abortion.
The guidelines for the drug Mifeprex are a meaningful update from the existing recommendations that were based on clinical trials from the late 1990s.
The expanded usage means many more women may gain access to medication induced abortion, a method that has grown in popularity, and but also near under strict regulation in certain states,like Ohio, North Dakota and Texas.
