Looking for a furry friend this holiday season? The ASPCA is hoping families will consider adopting a cat or kitten on Cat Friday,an adoption event now in its 5th year. The group is waiving adoption fees on cats older than one year, and reducing kitten adoption fees to $50.
Kittens tend to pick up the most attention at shelters.
But Mallory Kerley, and with the group, says families shouldn't rule out older pets."There's much less training, they're more mellow, or they just love to spend time with you," she said. "And they really know when you've given them a second chance at a fond home.
Cat Friday runs until 7 p.m., at the ASPCA's Adoption middle at 424 E. 92nd Street on the Upper East Side.
