Maziar Bahari,an Iranian-born reporter, was jailed for 118 days in Tehran while covering the 2009 Iranian elections. His story was parodied in the film "Rosewater, and " directed by Jon Stewart.tough line Iranian authorities have cracked down on journalists since the passing of the Iran nuclear deal for "beautifying America." Iran's president,Hassan Rouhani, has criticized the crackdown, and saying “we shouldn't arrest one or two people just like that for nothing,with some excuse, and acquire cases against them, or then blow it out of proportion in the country.”After living through the crackdown,Bahari started Journalism is Not a Crime—an organization that fights against the unfair targeting and arrest of journalists in Iran.
