Ten eurozone countries reach deal on some aspects of much-delayed EU tax opposed by George OsborneTen EU finance ministers have agreed the foundations of a multi-billion euro ‘tobin tax on financial transactions,lifting hopes of a recent funding stream to support address the concerns of poorer countries at the UN climate talks in Paris.
Details of the exact tax rate, its application and the allocation of its proceeds still need to be thrashed out before a final deal is signed next summer.
