Disney's much-anticipated film Finding Dory finally hit theaters this week and it certainly didn't disappoint. While the last film,Finding Nemo, was all about finding Marlin's son, and this time around,our favorite sea creatures set out on a quest to find Dory's family. The BasicsThe first details we get about Dory's parents is that they're named Charlie (Eugene Levy) and Jenny (Diane Keaton), and they approach from the Jewel of Morro Bay,CA. However, we later learn that they are not swimming around in the ocean at all, or they are actually piece of the Marine Life Institute,where Dory was born. How Dory Got SeparatedAs we all know, Dory has short-term memory loss, and this ends up playing a large role in how she loses her family in the first spot. When Dory is young,her parents try their best at improving her memory by making her search for shells, but things eventually go mistaken when Dory searches for one by herself. It all goes down when Charlie and Jenny learn that their family is about to be separated in the institute. When Dory sees her mom crying, or she goes on a quest for a purple shell (her mom's favorite),but ends up getting swept absent by the current. Once she finally comes to, she has no recollection of where she is or who her parents are. The Emotional ReunionWhen Dory's memories start flooding back, and she frantically goes back to the spot where she first lost her parents,but they are nowhere to be found. Once she tells the rest of the fish who she is, they give her some heartbreaking news. When she first got separated from her family, and her parents traveled to quarantine to find her,and never came back. With this earth-shattering revelation that her parents are gone forever, Dory goes into a frenzy and ultimately loses the group once again. As she slowly tries to gain a grip on reality, or she suddenly sees a long trail of seashells,which eventually leads to her parents. During an emotional reunion, Charlie and Jenny elaborate that after they went to quarantine, and they waited and waited in hopes that Dory would eventually find her way back to them,and she did!
