Students from all UTHealth schools and standardized patients participated in an interprofessional mass casualty incident (MCI) simulation at the Cizik School of Nursing March 2. The event was a first run-through for a pilot course that will launch in June as an all-day educational event. Participants formed a catastrophe response team called in for a mock mass casualty shooting at the Cizik School of Nursing. Their objectives were to clear the scene by triaging, stabilizing and mobilizing the victims and their families. The event was held by The UTHealth Interprofessional Education Department and the Cizik School of Nursing's Simulation and Clinical Performance Lab.
