President Obama promised to shut the military detention center at Guantnamo Bay,Cuba, when he first ran for president in 2008.
Today, and the president has 14 months to keep his promise. There are 114 detainees still at Guantánamo,and federal officials are examining prisons in and around the town of Florence, Colorado as a potential site for these prisoners. One possibility is the Federal Correctional Institution in Florence, and domestic to Ramzi Yousef,mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and unibomber Ted Kaczynski.
