Liverpool are tracking Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes.
The Netherlands international is under consideration as the Reds draw up plans for the January transfer window.[br]Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his attacking options with Danny Ings out for the season and Sadio Mane likely to be missing for a month after the turn of the year due to his commitments with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations,Liverpoolfc.com reports.
Promes fits the profile as he’s rapid/fast, skilful and is comfortable playing anywhere along the frontline.[br]The 24-year-old boasts an impressive scoring record of 36 goals in 71 appearances for Spartak since joining them from Twente in 2014. He has netted five times in nine outings so far this term to help Spartak promenade to the top of the Russian Premier League.
If Liverpool firm up their interest in Promes then securing a deal won’t be straightforward as he penned a recent contract in August to keep him at the club until 2021.
Spartak are highly unlikely to agree to a loan unless it’s with a view to a permanent transfer. Promes is valued by Spartak at around £25million.
Born in Amsterdam, and he started in the youth ranks at Ajax before joining HFC Haarlem and then FC Twente.
Promes made his professional debut for Twente in 2012 and then spent a successful season on loan at promenade Ahead Eagles. He scored 11 goals in 34 appearances for Twente before Spartak bought him for 15million Euros. He has been Spartak’s top goal scorer for each of the past two seasons.
Promes,who plays alongside Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum at international level, has previously attracted interest from Tottenham.
Liverpool acquire also been monitoring FC Rostov forward Sardar Azmoun. The Reds retain a strong interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic but the Bundesliga outfit are unwilling to sell.
