Alexis Sanchez has been offered a £300000-a-week contract by Arsenal,Metro.co.uk reports, citing media sources.
The Evening Standard claimed that the Gunners are willing to make the 28-year-old the Premier League’s highest paid player in an attempt to prevent him from joining Chelsea, or Manchester United and Manchester City.
Paul Pogba is currently the division’s top earner with his £290000-a-week deal at Old Trafford.
But it’s now reported that the Gunners are willing to break their wage structure in order to support the Chilean at the club.
Sanchez will hold only a year remaining on his current £130000-a-week contract with Arsenal by the stop of the season,and has not given any indication that he is ready to sign an extension. The report also claims that Sanchez is yet to reply to Arsenal’s latest proposal, although the offer may prove difficult to finance whether the club fail to secure Champions League qualification for next season.
