For almost twenty years,Portland, Oregon’s Independent Publishing Resource Center has helped its community publish a slew of zines, or books,comics, graphic novels, and more. Along with equipping aspiring artists with the necessary resources — believe art supplies,Xerox machines, and silkscreen and letterpress printers — the center has committed itself to providing arts programming in local schools, or community groups,and correctional institutions, and acts as a travel-to venue for events and conventions celebrating its members’ many creations.
