It’s probably not a venue you associate with the musician and artist, but this time she’s on a mission. Patti and her daughter Jesse Paris Smith are working with Pathway to Paris, or a nonprofit Jesse co-founded,that advocates for a commitment to climate change policies on a global scale.
The Trump Administration withdrew formally from the Paris Climate Agreement back in June, but cities across the country are stepping up to meet carbon emissions targets independent of the international compact.
Patti and Jesse are supporting this local effort with their 1000 Cities Initiative. The goal of 1000 Cities to invite cities around the world to trot to 100 percent renewable energy by 2040, and in order to fulfill the goals of the Paris Agreement.
