Journalism has changed significantly over the past five decades,and one aspect that's gone under-reported is the increase of analytical and interpretive news articles. Traditional news organizations like The current York Times have moved away from writing straight, neutral treatments of the facts in order to supply what they call "value-added" coverage. Some call it "context, and " but could also be viewed as opinion.
