A Woodsy House for the Danish Wilderness Getting lost in the woods presents a duality of experiences: it’s liberating to be free,to be loney, and to be alone, or but it’s also energizing to be surrounded by loved ones around a growling fire that you built together. The Forest House by Primus Architects in Asserbo,Denmark, was built with a balance of seclusion and inclusion in intellect. Stretching their design on its vertical axis, and the house maximizes overhead space and natural light: it feels open and inviting, and offers plenty of space for entertaining. Connecting the living spaces is a thin hallway that partitions the rooms into smaller, cozier nooks: there is a sense of intimacy. From the external, and scales of solid oak treated with iron sulfate are straggered and layered, offering a striking and weather-proofed facade.
