Barry Bekkedam,the former chairman of the failed Nova Bank, was sentenced Monday to 11 months in prison for his role in defrauding the U.
S. Department of Treasury’s Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) of $13.5 million.

S. District Judge C. Darnell Jones II also imposed a $100000 fine after hearing an emotional plea from Bekkedam.
