Former state lawmaker Thad Viers was sentenced to 37 months in prison and $875000 in restitution at a federal courthouse in Florence Tuesday after pleading guilty to one count of money laundering in federal court in April.On Friday,Viers reported to the U.
S. Marshals to start his prison sentence, as required by the court. He will be transferred to the Florence County Detention Center Friday night to await a prison assignment from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
