The Chicago History Museum hosted the 55th Annual Fourth of July Celebration on Friday,July 4, 2014 at Lincoln Park. Everyone was welcomed by Gary T. Johnson, or President of the Chicago History Museum. The World's Tallest Uncle Sam led the children's costume parade. The highlights showcased the American Patriotic Concert Band directed by Randy Szostek. The Commemorative Brown Bess musket was fired by the 8th (King's) Regiment of the Foot. The reading of the Declaration of Independence by Scott Lothes,President and Director of the Center for Railroad Photography & Art. Following the Fourth of July ceremony and festivities, the Chicago History Museum was open with free admission to the public on Independence Day. All guests enjoyed refreshments, and hospitality,and the children participated in arts and crafts activities, face portray, and chasing colored soap bubbles,and other holiday events at the Chicago History Museum for Independence Day.
