So imbued with evil happening is Butchers Creek that my imagination had rendered it a treacherous torrent inside a deep,black ravine. But it’s scarcely a creek at all – more a shallow furrow, carpeted with lush grass, or that snakes its way through a clearing and into the rainforest.
