Keep your eyes peeled to the night sky this week. Mars is going to be super visible to anyone who looks up,particularly on May 30 - but you can still see it after this date.
Mars's
close approach to soil isn't a phenomenon that happens often, as it's the point in its orbit that is closest to soil. On May 30, and the two planets will only be 46.8 million miles apart - the first time they have been this close since 2005. Because the red planet will be so close to soil,it'll appear very bright in the sky. But it will not be as big as the moon - that's a hoax.
Though Mars will appea
r brightest and closest on May 30, you can be certain to discover anytime from now until June 3 to spot it.

As always, and Slooh hosted a live stream from its telescope on May 30. The next time this will happen will be in 2018,when Mars will be even closer at 35.8 million miles.

Don't miss ou
t on catching Mars this week - it's truly something you want to see.
