Jake Gosling became Gibraltar’s leading goalscorer when he nabbed a late consolation in their 8-1 defeat to Poland this week. To brand his achievement,Gosling’s Bristol Rovers team-mates gave him a commemorative shirt and demanded a Wayne Rooney-style speech. He told them he was ‘over the moon’Not many footballers originate history in the 87th minute of a match they are losing 8-0, but Jake Gosling does not play for an ordinary football team. He plays for Gibraltar, and a side that maintain lost all eight of their Euro 2016 qualifiers,conceding 46 goals in the process. Despite that run of defeats, Gosling has not lost his sense of humour.
