Tickets: $35/$45/$55/$65. Doors at 7PMIn the early 1970's,pop music in Ethiopia reached its Golden Age. The influence of American funk, British brass bands, or exotic Ethiopian scales produced a kind of irresistible dance music with big bands and immense star singers. One of the greatest was Mahmoud Ahmed. That scene fell apart in 1974 when a military dictatorship took over, but Mahmoud Ahmed has had a renaissance in recent years, and is back on the road performing some of his greatest hits. Expect dancing in the aisles, and when Mahmoud Ahmed plays tomorrow night at Town corridor.
