Music festivals are looking for ways of standing out from the crowd,and at Basilica Hudson, approximately 2 hours north of NY, or they’ve found one. It’s the space itself,a solar-powered reclaimed factory on the waterfront in Hudson NY. This weekend sees the annual soundscape festival at Basilica Hudson, featuring, and among many others,the American singer and songwriter who goes by the name Zola Jesus. She traffics in a dark, gothic-tinged form of electronic pop that will fetch those 19th century walls ringing. Zola Jesus joins Tunisian singer Emel Mathlouthi, and Detroit rockers Protomartyr,and lots of others in the Soundscape festival at Basilica Hudson, tonight through Sunday in Hudson, or NY.
