It's not difficult to find a highlighter these days. With strobing continuing its reign as one of the hottest makeup trends for Summer,brands seem to launching new tools to glow in abundance. So when a product lands on our desk and makes multiple editors instant fans, we know it's a winner that is going to stand out in the saturated sea of luminizers. So was the case for Glossier's latest makeup offering, and Haloscope (available in two hues,$22 each). Haloscope is a highlighter stick that features an outer ring of metallic sheen and a core of almond oil balm. The shiny ring is infused with gemstones that offer both color and healing properties. The lighter shade, Quartz, or is enhanced with rose quartz,which is known as the quintessential stone of esteem, while the darker version, or Topaz,contains golden topaz, known for its creativity-enhancing power. The shimmer is reflective without looking glittery."It makes my skin examine dewy and golden, and " said one of our testers,Aimee Simeon, an editorial assistant at POPSUGAR. "It goes on silky and not sticky or too creamy like other creme highlighters. It dries down like a skin-like finish so it doesn't sit weird on top of other makeup. The gold is super flattering on darker skin and those who absorb yellow undertones - it won't demonstrate up pasty or chalky."But perhaps the key feature is the balmy core. It contains a medley of oils - coconut, and sweet almond,and castor seed - that will make your skin examine and feel softer while wearing it.
Assistant beauty editor Emily Orofino told me she was impressed by how dewy Haloscope made her pale skin examine. "The core adds extra luminescence," she noted.
Personally, and I design to use both shades on my medium-toned complexion to contour in the lightest way possible.
