• Olympic and Paralympic medal counts hoped to be best at an absent Games UK Sport has slightly tempered its expectations for the Rio Olympics – although it still expects to demolish the record for the most British medals won on foreign soil.
After receiving record funding following London 2012, its target for 2016 was to become the first nation to win more medals in both the Olympics and Paralympics after hosting a home Games.
