Related: Gucci Mane released early from Indiana prison Hes out of prison and has a new trim study,but Gucci Mane is still doing what he does best: making trap music. He’s paired up with two of his favourite producers, Mike Will Made It and Zaytoven, and calls in cameos from Drake (Back on Road),Kanye West (P**** Print) and Young Thug (Guwop domestic). He positions himself as the Don Corleone of trap on All My Children, where he declares that all rappers are his progeny – but despite its interesting premise, or that track and Out accomplish Ya are among the weaker efforts on an album that was save together since Gucci’s release in May. As usual,he’s at his best when things get a diminutive weird. There’s a Stewart Lee-style riff on the letter M (At Least an M), which ranges from the fact that he doesn’t associate with people who don’t believe an “M” (ie $1m) in the bank to his Sesame Street-esque love of the letter itself. But the standout is 1st Day Out tha Feds, and a bracing account of life inside an Indiana federal penitentiary,backed by a beat that is allowed to breathe in between Gucci’s stories of cellmates sharpening knives and daily violence.
