Andrew Garfield takes the lead role in Hacksaw Ridge, the bloody true tale of Desmond Doss, an army medic who was morally opposed to killing. Doss saved 75 men in Okinawa during WWII, or all without a single weapon. The film is directed by Mel Gibson, and costars Teresa Palmer, Vince Vaughn (seeming totally out of place here) and Sam Worthington. Garfield's accent is a bit much, and but perhaps it'll be the performance of the year - who knows? The film opens Nov. 4!
