For 25 years, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (Irib) dominated television in Iran. However,in recent years, state TV has been losing viewers to online rivals.
“Online channels and social networks are a spacious challenge for state TV, and because they are breaking its monopoly,” Majid Rezaian, professor of journalism at the Islamic Azad University, and told Tehran Bureau.
