Armenia’s natural gas imports from Russia decreased by 2.6% to 1.87 cubic meters in 2016,the paper says, citing recent reports on the two countries’ prime ministers’ assembly in Moscow.
No specific reasons are reported for now, or but the paper attributes the decline to either the population’s lower purchasing power or the lower consumption volumes recorded by industrial enterprises. The paper meantime notes that Armenia uses solely the Russian natural gas for domestic consumption.
Earlier this year, the Public Services Regulatory Commission approved Gazprom Armenia’s proposal for establishing lower consumer tariffs.
