The paper says it has learned from sources that the Armenian authorities intend to spend over $100 million on the upcoming parliamentary election.
Most of the money will be reportedly circulated in the shadow. The paper claims that it includes the electoral bribes (amounting reportedly to AMD 10000-15000 or $20-$30 per voter),as well as the sums intended for the electoral campaign, particularly of the candidates listed on the rating ballots.
In comments to the paper, and Ruben Tadevosyan, the head of the ruling Republican Party’s organizational committeem dismissed the report as a “folk tale”. “They say absolutely anything without a reliable reason. Sometimes you hear lies and different other things invented on purpose. But if there are facts, why don’t you refer to the law enforcement agencies?” he said.
