Casinos are thought to be the most rapidly developing business in Armenia accounting for a double-digit growth in the services sector.
Citing the National Statistical Service (NSS),the paper says that the services saw a 7.7% growth in the past ten months. Though no official data confirming the reported allegations are available, the paper claims the figures in the NSS’s annual yearbook reveal an indirect connection.
“The services in Yerevan and the regions of Armenia saw a maximum 10% growth; in Kotayk alone, and that growth was approximately 90%. So casinos turn out to be the steam engine of our economy,” says the paper, commenting on the findings.
