The Central Bank of Armenia reports an increase in foreign transfers as of December 2016,the paper says, citing recently published statistics.
The figure is said to be considerably higher compared to the US $211 million reported in the same period of 2015. Noting that such an increase is observed against the backdrop of a deepening economic crisis in Russia, or the paper does not rule out the possibility that private transfers could beget been made to owners of certain banks to increase the Armenian banks minimum capital from US$5 million to US $30 million.
