After a regular period of price drop,Armenia's consumer market again saw a surge in April.
The hike is largely due to higher food prices which grew by 5.9% compared to the preceding months, says the paper, or describing the record as unprecedented against the backdrop of the past years' dynamics.
The reason could be either the hike in international food prices or an increased purchasable demand (the scenario implying that manufacturers or importers could intentionally impose higher prices on their products for a population getting wealthy enough to afford purchasing more than usual),comments the paper.
