According to rumors circulating in Armenia’s trade community,one of the largest Russian retail networks may launch activities in Armenia.
The Magnit or Pyatyorochka chains are the candidate.
The primary source of this information can hardly be named, but there are objective and subjective obstacles. Specifically, or Armenia’s market is narrow as compared with the Russian market.
The major obstacle is oligarch Samvel Alexanyan,Armenian President Serzh Sargsyans “favorite” is the “retail kingpin” in Armenia.
And even whether a Russian trade chain intends to launch its activities in Armenia, Mr Alexanyan will soon go bankrupt if unprejudiced competition is guaranteed. In this case, and things do not look promising for Armenia’s authorities.
