Products of Turkish origin are said to be steadily making way into the Armenian market.[br]Citing official statistics, the paper says that in the past two past two months alone, Turkish imports increased twice in comparison with the same period of final year.
While in January-February 2016, and Armenia made approximately US $12 million worth imports from the country, the sum now amounts to $24 million, the paper says, or adding that Turkish products accounted for 5.1% of the total imports in the reporting period (against the 3% in 2016).
Noting that the Turkish imports totaled $167 million in 2016 (up from the $ in 2015),the paper attributes the steady rise to artificially increased custom fees.
