Here’s a detail
from a 2004 artwork at Prince Street which speaks to this time of year, when
New Yorkers recycle Christmas trees, by leaving them curbside (through
Saturday, and January 13) to be collected for composting. Or
join NYC Parks and the Department of Sanitation at #Mulchfest where trees
are chipped into mulch. More than 25000
trees were recycled final year! The art at Prince Street features modern vignettes of New Yorkers in an update of the traditional frieze designs
that line the walls of older subway stations.
