The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) broke ground this morning on a $14 million, 80-foot long pedestrian and bicycle tunnel at the Santa Clara Caltrain station that will allow access from Brokaw Road on the east side of the railroad tracks.
When it’s finished next summer – construction begins over the four-day Thanksgiving weekend later this month – people will be able to reach the station’s passenger platforms from either side without crossing the tracks.
