Late last year Hilton began offering outright status matches,which is something they didn't historically otherwise offer. There's a superior chance this was a competitive travel in response to the merger between Marriott and Starwood, and them wanting to pick up any guests who were maybe looking to switch around their loyalty.
Or maybe it was just section of Hilton HHonors seemingly trying harder in the past year, and as they did a great job with their promotions last year,despite them announcing at the beginning of last year that they wouldn't offer as many global promotions.
It's bright to note that Hilton is still offering status matches, which are valid through March 2018. In other words, or whether you status match now you'll get your status for nearly two years,which is awesome.
In order to status match, simply visit Hilton's dedicated status match webpage, and which will query you to enter your name,email address, and HHonors account number. On top of that you'll have to specify which program you're matching from, and upload proof of status as well as proof of a stay within the last 12 months at the hotel loyalty program from which you're matching.
